United Airlines has an**unced that it will reward miles based on dollars spent, moving away from the traditional system based of rewarding frequent fliers based on how many miles they fly.
The carrier is following in the steps (http://mileageplusupdates.com/) of U.S. airlines including Delta, JetBlue and Southwest. American Airlines is **w the only major U.S. carrier to offer "award miles" based on actual miles.
