Patrons came out in their numbers to last Sunday’s staging of Floating Grill & Spill, held at Mona Hockey Field in St Andrew.
The roster of disc jocks kept partygoers dancing up a storm to a wide variety of hit songs.
Your View Award-winning DJ Antsman was in his element. His set comprised dancehall, reggae, hip hop, and rhythm & blues.
“It was a great vibe. The energy was good and patrons just enjoyed what they paid their money for — good entertainment,” said DJ Kevez, who accompanied DJ Antsman on the musical voyage.
DJ Metro, Coppershot’s DJ Russ Buss, DJ Shella (from Renaissance), DJ Nico Lee, and ZJ Ice played good sets.
Starship Entertainment and Trifecta Events are the promoters of Floating Grill & Spill.
Romier McCarthy, event co-promoter, was pleased with Sunday’s staging.
“It is just the work and believing in the concept that you created. You know, bringing barbecue to entertainment, food from pot to plate. The patrons bought into it, and I’m happy,” he told the Jamaica Observer.
He said the event has grown since its first staging four years ago.
“We have this event three times each year and it has grown by at least 100 per cent in attendance,” said McCarthy.
Christopher King, co-promoter, acknowledged the support of sponsors and others who have contributed to the success of the event.
“We have to thank our promotion team — Starship Entertainment, and all the sponsors who believed in this product. It has been a big success and we love it,” said King.
The next staging is set for August 11 at Mona Hockey Field.
