Cholera outbreak in Sudan kills 14

Nairobi, May 24 (IANS) The toll in the cholera outbreak in South Sudan's capital Juba has risen to 14 with 395 suspected cases reported, the UN humanitarian agency said Saturday. The UN ****** for Coordination of Humanitarian Crisis (OCHA) South Sudan said the various prevention measures including vaccination and awareness programmes were implemented in UN bases and camps, Xinhua reported. "In addition to the ongoing response to 1.3 million displaced people across the country, partners increased their response to the cholera outbreak in Juba. 308 out of 395 suspected cases have been treated," OCHA said in its latest report on South Sudan.
