So this is Bob"s one week anniversary of being here with us. He has been fantastic we have being doing lots of trailer work, ground manners- spook busting. He is proving rather unflappable with most aspects. He has tried on a bridle and tasted a yummy covered bit- he has had a saddle sat on him with the stirrups banging about he was 100% a star! But....I suspect he has been "backed"... and hurt.He entirely loses the cool calm cob when you stand in the mounting position or when you reach over his back- or do anything that he suspects may involve you getting on. It's heartbreaking really as he is superb. So we have gone right back to basics of standing on a box brushing his shoulder and working my way to his back and over his neck. But does anyone have experience or insight into how best to help him other than time and reassurance? And the cute dude himself-https://postimg.cc/image/dwb12sb9t/https://postimg.cc/image/m1t310rtt/https://postimages.org/appHe is a hippo. I have ordered 10l of pig oil and sulphur thank you all for advice on that!
