buying horses, selling horses, pricing horse

so if your selling a horse how have you personally come to he price you advertise it at?as a buying how do you justify the horse being worth that value?and also has any one every brought a horse and managed to get money off ?found a horse i like and seems to be what i need, but its more then i really want to spend , and a few people think it is over priced any way,wanting to know if i really am just being rude if i offered them less?
