The family of a young couple that disappeared in Afghanistan (http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2012/12/30/afghanistan-missing-couple/1799297/) in late 2012 say they’ve received videos from the American woman and her Canadian husband asking the U.S. government for help.

The family chose Wednesday to an**unce that they had received the videos “in light of the publicity surrounding the weekend rescue of Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl,” the Associated Press reports (http://bigstory.ap.org/article/ap-exclusive-videos-couple-held-afghanistan), as the family is hopeful the U.S. and Canadian governments can intervene to bring Caitlan Coleman and Joshua Boyle home, freeing them from their Taliban captors.
