Exercises to build up a ‘weaker’leg

I have moved to a fab yard and have an instructor that actually (finally!!) got on my horse and appreciates the issues i face. Things have been going swimmingly but my left leg is so useless! On the right rein we have no issues but on he left... Lord we look like I?ve never been on a horse. did have a nasty fall years ago which involved air ambulance... pins in bones etc. I can kick on the left side but my left leg is so ineffectual for the more quiet aids. Any tips for exercises to strengthen it (on and off the horse!) Thanks 🙏🏻
