Protechmasta poll guard.

Anybody used, or have experience of the protechmasta infrared poll guard? I've bought one, and looking at it, it's just a shaped piece of cloth, I can't see how it can influence the horses behaviour at all! For £25, I'm not impressed with what arrived, so before I try it or send it back, I'd like opinions. ( In C&T as well.)
