Tips for getting her to move!!

My 4 yr old mare has decided some days she doesnt want to leave her buddies in the field! She lets me catch her no problem, walks with me willingly, then stops and wont budge. Its stop start to the gate and its a big field. I take a schooling whip, tap her behind and usually she starts walking again, then stops and so on. The other day she was a proper cow, had the usual but instead of going forwards, she has decided to walk backwards when I use the whip or put any pressure on her to go forwards. Ive tried pushing her backwards, something Id rather not do as this results in her continuing to go backwards and backwards at any opportunity!, pulling her side to side to get her off balance so she at least moves and admittedly lost my rag the other day after 20 mins just getting to the gate as she did the same trick on the lane up to the stables in a place that has barbed wire, so in a bid to stop her reversing into the wire, I turned her round and thought if you want to back up, you can all the way to the stables! She didnt like that, deciding she didnt like walking backwards and I injured my thumb in the process oooops. It did make her think though and she walked fine afterwards!This isnt everyday, she trotted to me yesterday, just one tantrum at the gate and then she was fine. She comes in to be fed, groomed, occasionally ridden and to give her some relief from the flies, so its not like shes just coming in to work.I need to be able to get her in alone as I hardly see anyone at the yard.Thanks for getting this far.
