Keratoma

Hi All, Just wanting to know if anyone has experience in a keratoma in their horses? My 3 year old has been on and off lame for the last 6-8 weeks. Previous vet and farrier have said it's down to long rumbling abscess and to let it come out in it's own time. I decided to get a second opinion from a different vet who did xrays and found she had a keratoma in her pedal bone :( We are now planning surgery, 4 weeks box rest and a lonnnnnng rehab. i was planning on selling her this summer, but the good news is that the prognosis is good for this sort of operation. Any experiences... ?
