Worming & FEC

For all the years I have kept horses, I was at the same yard where they live as a herd. The land owner provided our wormers every other month and that was that. No one wud be allowed to do anything different. Anyway, I'm now on a new yard where it's just my horse & a friend's Dartmoor sharing our paddock, surrounded by 20 or so others in various paddocks. We'd like to know more about FEC so we only worm as necessary. There's so much online that it's confusing! How often wud it be done if they are all clear? Or when wud u repeat it after dosing? Any info greatly appreciated thx 😊
