Hickstead trip!

I'm headed to Hickstead for the Derby in June. Excited! Looks like the shopping is pretty good? http://www.hickstead.co.uk/plan-your-visit/shopping-at-hickstead/ Anything a must see or must do in the area? Any large tack shops near Brighton, or anywhere near the M40 for our trip on to Wales?
