Towing cars of the future

Is anyone else getting a little worried about this? I've only just passed my towing test and loving with Sorento but looking forwards to my next towing car, maybe planning TOO far ahead but I'm worrying a little about tax/diesel prices rocketing due to the governments (rightly so) bid to make driving more environmentally friendly. In my millionaire dream world, I'd like a Tesla Model X, but in the real world, I couldn't afford something like this in a million years! What are everyone else's plans? Are you even thinking about it?
