Reassure me...

I'm really unsure which way this is going to go. Little horse, last week p'd off with my daughter. She swung him round in a circle and eventually pulled up lame. Got off, I gave her my horse and sent her home for bandages as we were in fields and as close to home as the nearest road so bandaged instantly to walk slowly home. At this point I was thinking tendon. Got home, tendon felt fine. Really quite lame in walk, didn't trot. Treated as "done a leg" i.e. Stabled, bandaged and buted.Swelling and heat below the knee on the inside. Pretty convinced suspensory or check lig. Buted x2 daily Friday-Wednesday.1x day til Friday and nothing over the weekend with a view to scanning the leg on Monday. I see a lot of legs and am pretty convinced this is what he's done. My boss (RH trainer) agrees. Vet doesn't, she thinks he may have knocked it. We think vets a bit mad. (Not helped by the fact we had a Racer misdiagnosed as fine didn't need scanning a month or so back, had in fact done a suspensory. Different vet) So after no Bute for 2 days he's not obviously worse (as I'd expected) In fact he looks kind of sound on it. There's still thickening, below the knee, round the tendon but both sides, not badly it's just bigger than the good leg. Can I chill a bit? We are a week now, well 8 days in. Still looks a bit "leggy" to me but he's not got worse coming off the Bute and has improved over the week. I'm just a bit scared to be happy! Not sure if I need to insist we scan even though the vet said if he's improved by Monday no need.
