ISLAMABAD: Minister for Interior Ahsan Iqbal on Saturday deplored the Election Commission of Pakistan decision to deprive Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidates of party's identity, adding the ruling party (PML-N) has been subjected to ?target killing?.
He said the Senate elections are yet another milestone in the democratic process and conspiracy theories of the failed politicians have eventually vanished. Talking to media outside the Parliament House, he said the timely holding of Senate elections is a step forward towards further strengthening of democracy in the country.The declaring of PML-N candidates as independents have not been accepted by a vast majority of the people, he added. He stressed the need for enhanced coordination among various institutions of the country.
