ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony will conduct another Haj balloting immediately after winning the 17 percent Haj quota case from the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
A spokesman of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony on Friday said in a statement that the names of unsuccessful government Haj Scheme applicants would be included in the second Haj balloting if they opt to retain their deposited Haj dues in their respective banks. The unsuccessful pilgrims of first Haj balloting would not be included in the second Haj balloting if they opt to withdraw their deposited Haj dues from their respective banks. Further information could be taken by contacting 051-9205696; 051-921568, 051-9215681 and 051-9215682. It merits mentioning here that the ministry has already conducted balloting of 50 percent Haj quota. The balloting for remaining 17 percent quota had not been conducted as the case is subjudice. Certain Haj Group Organisers (HGOs) challenged decision of the government of reducing their Haj quota from 40 percent to 33 percent this year.
