Showing- help please!

I?ve never done a showing show before and I have no idea how it works! I?ve been googling and it seems to a be a minefield of what type of horse/what you should wear/ what they should wear. My boy is a 16.2 ex racer so looking to do ROR and maybe another class, but no idea what! Any tips and advice gratefully received!
