Title is a bit of a lie as I'm still riding, just not doing my lads favourite thing; jumping! We're on a busy yard so the indoor arena is regularly booked out, and because it's winter the outdoor is often waterlogged. Thanks to a rather bad back injury (horse) I'm really trying to regain suppleness and roundness. This means LOTS of circles, lateral work etc and not much jumping as I can't really find the time to do so and have had to prioritise flatwork. We do still do lots of trot/canter poles however they're just not the same (and we do poles for different reasons).I really hate not jumping him as it gives a nice break from all the FW and I really don't want him to come into the arena and be bored of doing the same stuff all the time (we try hack out but weather). All I've really done since about September is the odd 50cm xpole and roughly 3 sessions of bouncer work. I'm really wanting us to be back to jumping courses in time for competition season but think we're really going to struggle.Any tips to get us back into the swing of things would really be appreciated. I'm sure I'm not the only one in a similar situation who's also fed up of winter grr.
