Dealing with old abscess holes?

Farrier been today, whilst paring out hind soles, has found old abscess holes. Pus appears to have vanished, as literally just the hole there. Horse out 24/7 without access to a stable.Will be keeping an eye on them/cleaning out daily, is there anything else I could be doing? Poulticing is a no go, would just get sucked off in the mud
