How soon after tooth extraction can you ride again

My horse has gone in today for a tooth extraction (molar tooth in his upper jaw/cheek)It is a question I will ask my vet but just wondered in other peoples experience, providing the extraction goes smoothly, how soon was you able to ride?TIA
