Former POTUS and FLOTUS Barack and Michelle Obamas' official portraits for the Smithsonian Institute's National Portrait Gallery were revealed yesterday. Barack selected New York-based artist Kehinde Wiley, and Michelle selected Baltimore-based artist Amy Sherald. Both Kehinde and Amy made history as the first African-American painters to receive a presidential portrait commission from the museum.* Read more...
