Just and update for all of you that showed concern for my horse over the last few months. He is OK :) Stomach, gut/ liver/ kidneys/ intestines all fine after many tests. He is showing no signs of lameness and doesn't seem to be in pain around his gut as i had suspected. The weeing isnt an issue, everything is normal so that episode he has was likely a delayed effect of the sedation. After rolling off the long list of issues and behaviors to the vet he has been put through his paces for 3 days and it turns out we are right back to the start. Respiratory issues, his airwaves are inflamed and to put it simply he seems to have asthma. The horrible video i posted they seem to think was actually him straining to breath hence why the muscles were working super hard... a sort of Asthma attack. He had a respiratory infection a while ago but i had been led to believe this has cleared up.He is going to have a inhaler or nebuliser in order for him to breath in his steroid medicine. The wobbliness and general grumpy mood seems to be coming from the fact he is suffering with sleep deprivation... now my mission is to figure out how i can help him sleep. looking back the problems seem to coincide with the time i changed his bedding to wood pellets, i thought with them being dust free they would be great but whilst getting his stable ready for him to come home i was shocked by the damp smell and general dampness of the bed.... despite being deep and cleaned really well. It took me the best past of 3 hours to get the deep litter pellet bed up but its out and chippings have gone down. I have noticed he is rolling but i dont know if he is sleeping :/ * For those that have experience sleep deprivation do you have any tips on things i can try to help him? * air way/ respiratory and breathing supplements, are there any which help or are they essentially a waste of money?
