Soft shell competition jackets

I?m wondering about one of these as they seem to be more comfortable and easy to wear than a traditional jacket. I?m short (5?2?) with very square shoulders and I?m also fat - would these jackets look horrendous and clingy? Does anyone have any recommendations?
