ISLAMABAD: In a corruption reference pending against defunct minister for finance Ishaq Dar, a banking analyst Zafar Iqbal Mufti told the Accountability Court (AC) that as per information acquired through State Bank of Pakistan, Ishaq Dar and his wife had 7 accounts in different Pakistani banks while 8 in the name of their companies.
In all the 15 accounts, transactions worth Rs1.5580 billion were made on different times either through cash or other means. Mufti produced Dar's Bank Credit Inflows Report before the AC.
AC here Friday recorded statements of 6 prosecution witnesses in which Commissioner Inland Revenue Ishtiaq Ahmed produced Dar's 30-year tax record.
Dismissed director operations of National Database Authority (Nadra) Syed Qaboos Aziz submitted before the court that he had provided Dar's family details (family-tree) and his daughter Siddiqua Ali Rana to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Another witness, Mirza Faizur Rehman of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) produced a record pertaining to Dar's property in Gulberg, Lahore that earlier belonged to a former film star Deeba. Dar had purchased this property in 1988.
Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP)?s Deputy Director Saeed Khan produced fiscal statements of Dar that he had been submitting before the ECP every year from 2013 till 2016.
Another prosecution witness, Muhammad Naeem, an Excise and Taxation Officer from Lahore, produced the detail of Dar's vehicles before the court. He said that three vehicles were registered in the name of the accused. A vehicle worth Rs3.4 million was transferred in the name of his wife Tabassum Dar while another vehicle was transferred in the name of one Syeda Zuhra Mansoor.AC Judge Muhammad Bashir directed the witnesses to keep all the record in their safe custody as there would be cross-examination if accused returned and appeared before the court.
