Trickle net

Anyone else got a horse that really does not understand how to use a trickle net ? Horse is a tad too porky and he is not able to be ridden ( lawn mower ) so thought I would change his normal ad lib big haynet to a trickle net, start early to try to shift some pounds . This morning his net has hardly been touched. I feel a tad cruel as he normally scoffs most of his net .
