Today in absolutely horrifying things found in nature: a snake slithering around in a shallow body of water wearing a huge fish head.*

The clip, which was submitted to the appropriate subreddit r/WTF (https://www.reddit.com/r/WTF/comments/7sekin/snake_fish/?st=jctme1tq&sh=10654d4e) on Tuesday, was a hit on the notoriously deranged forum. If you can shock r/WTF, you've got some seriously messed up content there.

It's unclear where the clip originated, but the snake masquerading as a fish may not be as sinister as it looks. Herpetologist Emily Taylor (https://perl.calpoly.edu/people/dr-emily-taylor), director of the Physiological Ecology of Reptiles Lab at Cal Poly, tells Inverse (https://www.inverse.com/article/40461-snake-fish-head-reddit) that the snake likely did not behead the fish or eat its body before putting on its head because snakes eat their meals whole, like true monsters.* Read more...
