Le Chameau neoprene or jersey lined?

My Grasmeres are coming to the end of their life and I think I?m going to replace them with something more practical as I only use my Grasmeres for wading through mud. Looking at a pair of Le Chameaus. The neoprene lined are £170 which to me is extortionate for a pair of wellies! Are they really £45 better than the standard jersey lined? Are a good pair of thermal socks not just as good?
