Nebulisers?

My pony has copd and is really struggling at the moment, vets have suggested a nebuliser but i am not sure what exactly they meant, is there a certain one that is better suited for horses and is there any "medicine" that can be used with it? If anyone has used one or is still using one i would appreciate your advice/opinion as to best one to use etc. Thanks in advance.
