Transport quandry

I know this gets done to death but I am wanting outside views. Currently have a 4x4 sorento and Ifor 510 trailer to transport 16.3 mare. We go out prob once month maybe twice month in summer. Have option to have lease car for work and currently using sorrento which costing me fortune think up to 120 miles day and sorrento needs replacing in next year or so. So looking at having lease car and will cost me £75 month. Oh has merc but not heavy enough to tow with and doesn?t want to change which fine. My sorrento costs £800 a year tax, ins, mot, oil change etc before I do anything with it plus 120 trailer insurance and 100 breakdown and horse recovery. I don?t really like sound of 4x4 sitting there to be used 1-2 times month. Am old enough to drive 7.5 town on normal licence but for 1 horse and they don?t do well sitting there. So other options are buy 3.5 ton with budget of 5-8k or hire one as needed but drive to pick up and drop off us 30 miles each way. What 3.5 tin am I going to get for that money and do they mind sitting for a month if you don?t go out. With my 7.5 tonner when I had it it was always hassle to drive it somewhere to give it run. Other thought is I have bad back so pulling trailer about not good nor is lifting heavy ramps. No experience if 3.5 tin lorises
