Over-reach boots for the field

Horse has to wear over-reach boots all round in the field.... horse specialises in taking over-reach boots off in the field....cue lots of ?aaaargh!? noises & tramping round muddy fields to retrieve them! Do the neoprene type ones stay on any better than the ordinary rubber type? Horse also destroys over-reach boots regularly(splits the rubber, pulls off Velcro/straps etc) so I was hoping to avoid expensive boots but I seem to be replacing them every fortnight at the moment!
