Easibed uses I need some help

HiI have just changed my horse from straw to easibed. We put down 10 bales in our large stable on concrete floor to start the bed. It looked and smelt amazing and I went home for the first time not smelling of horse wee and poo. The next day on my first muck out i found all his poo mixed in across the whole stable bed making it take ages to muck out by hand. All the videos I have watched on this bedding did not look like my bed. It is taking me longer to muck out than when I had straw. I changed to this bedding as my boy has allergies and started to cough to save time mucking out. He is on a semi deep litter bed at the moment. Am I doing something wrong or is the wrong type of bedding for my horse. Have to say it has locked down the wet which has really impressed me.Any tips thank you
