Hi, random question here...Doing my flat up and have forked out for 5 lovely new oak vaneered doors. Carpenter has been hanging them, and told me to buy clear polyurethane varnish to finish them off. Couldn't find it so bought some Ronseal water based clear varnish in satin finish. Tried it on an offcut and it was horrible, made my lovely smooth wood rough and sticky feeling.I want my doors to be soft and tactile - you know when you see that gorgeous piece of oak furniture and you just have to touch it, and it's all smooth and lovely and warm looking? How do I accomplish that?! Googling is driving me crazy and i'm getting nowhere!Left over christmas chocolates for those with useful advice!
