Am looking to slow feed more hay now the colder weather is upon us, as our bunch either scoff the lot quicker than speedy gonzales races after cheese, or they tread it into their bed (they have a huge pile placed on the floor in the corner of their boxes).I have been looking at various slow hay feeders, the square feeders with the grid on top included, but many look like an accident waiting to happen. Or are they?Hay balls could be an option but we would need to tie it to a very short length of baler twine on a low tie ring to keep it out of very grubby and wet overnight beds.Having seen nasty haynet accidents on yards, nets aren't my first choice and I am getting bogged down by the choice of other slow feeders, so your experiences/preferences would help please - we have a few neds to buy for! Thanks. :o
