ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said his party will come on roads if concessions were given to Sharif brothers and Ishaq Dar.

Imran Khan claimed that even the US President Donald Trump would not be able to rescue the Sharifs for looting the national wealth, as he has come up with documents, showing that Finance Minister Ishaq Dar owned 11 offshore companies and one of them owned 52 villas in Dubai.

He told a media conference at his Banigala residence on Friday that the documents reveal that besides Dar?s two sons owning Rs10 billion tower each in the UAE, they ran companies, which also employed Hussain Nawaz and Muhammad Safdar as business person and general cleaner, respectively.

The PTI chairman said everyone knows that Dar?s father had a cycle shop and that he was a hard worker, for whom he has a lot of respect. But Imran insisted that it is cruelty to take away what belongs to others.

Imran also said they have collected more evidence against Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif, who is a federal minister and a legal consultant in Dubai, having an Iqama. He added PTI?s Usman Dar would soon hold a separate news conference on this issue.

The PTI chief said he is waiting for the promised movement by Nawaz Sharif but his brother Shahbaz Sharif has already gone to Saudi Arabia to kneel before the princes, whereas Nawaz is also about to leave for the kingdom. He believes that efforts are under way for another NRO and warned that he would bring public on the roads in such case. Even, he said, Trump would not rescue the Sharif brothers now. He alleged that Nawaz Sharif?s ideology is corruption. ?They are trying to save their looted money and not democracy,? he charged.

Referring to Nawaz Sharif?s statements, he alleged that Nawaz is objecting that like in the past, the judiciary and the military are not rescuing him. ?Not I, but Nawaz was the beloved of Ziaul Haq, who nurtured him and a brigadier handed him victory in Punjab,? he claimed.

Imran alleged that Nawaz wanted to defame the judiciary and that is why they are issuing aggressive statements. He urged the Supreme Court to initiate contempt of court proceedings against Nawaz, as the kind of language he is using has never been used in the past. The PTI chairman emphasised that either the contempt law be used against Nawaz or it should be done away with, if it were to be used against the weak and the poor only.

Imran alleged that Nawaz looted the nation?s Rs300 billion and took them away and in return, presented a Qatari letter in the apex court. He claimed the real evidence and money trail of it was in the Hudaibya Paper Mills case, about which they now have new evidence as they await the detailed judgement of the apex court bench. Imran contended that the criminal case, once closed, could be reopened on surfacing of new evidence.

About Dar, Imran said that he met Nawaz in 1980 and became a millionaire and then a billionaire and now possesses trillions, whereas he did not pay any income tax from 1981-2002. Then in 2007 he disclosed assets of Rs9.1 million and following which there has been an 800 percent increase in his assets by 2013.

Imran said in order to avoid payment of taxes, Dar showed payment of Rs170 million to Hajveri charity, though the payment was never made. Also there are two towers worth Rs10 billion each in the name of his two sons and no one knows from where they got money for this.

Imran, with documents in his hands, said Dar owned 11 companies and one of these companies was HDS Estates Limited that owns 52 villas, whereas they received massive amounts from Oman, England, Switzerland, Turkey and Canada which clearly shows they had businesses over there as well. He asked Dar to explain how he managed to collect that amount of money and alleged that Dar is Nawaz Sharif?s frontman and Nawaz feared that like in the past, when he (Dar) had submitted an affidavit before a magistrate on money-laundering, Dar would again reveal more. He added that this is the reason why Dar is being kept abroad and even the ministerial post has not been taken back from him, which is leading to more doubts and apprehensions.

Imran said Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi struck an LNG agreement with Qatar worth $15 billion, which was not presented to the Parliament and asked how could a contract of public money be kept a secret. Imran alleged the Sharifs have several frontmen: Dar in Dubai, Saifur Rehman in Qatar, Hussain Nawaz in Saudi Arabia and Hassan Nawaz in England and Seed Sheikh in the United States.

The PTI chief said that all were one to cover up their corruption and while referring to the Multan metro bus project, he noted that the Chinese regulator had unearthed corruption, whereas Pakistan?s Securities and Exchange Commission remained silent thereon. He wondered what would be the fate of other projects and citedRs200 billion worth Orange train project as an example.

When asked for his comment on nominating disqualified Jehangir Tareen?s son Ali Tareen for bye-election in NA-154, Imran said it would have hurt Geo and Jang Group?s Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman as he wanted to save the Sharifs. However, Imran defended Ali?s nomination and said this is no family politics, alleging family politics is being done by Sharifs. Our correspondent adds: A spokesman of Ishaq Dar vehemently rejected claims made by Imran Khan and said that he does not own any assets abroad.

In a statement, the spokesman said Ishaq Dar does not own any assets, companies or properties abroad. He said Dar purchased a house in Dubai on installments, which he gifted to his children after payment of some of the installments. He said the remaining installments were paid by his children. He said all the details have been duly declared in the returns submitted to the Election Commission of Pakistan.

The spokesman said Hudaibya Paper Mills case has been thrown out by the Lahore High Court. Recently, he said, the Supreme Court has also rejected a NAB reference to reopen the case. He said repeated references to the case is nothing but a disrespect of the courts.

The spokesman said Dar does not own even a single company abroad. He said he was a tax non-resident from 2002 to 2008. Neither before nor after that time, he held any interest in any company. He said the allegation of the HDS Tower in Dubai being owned by Senator Dar's sons is concocted and a big lie. The towers are not owned by sons of Senator Dar, who only acted as developers and builders of the towers by utilising funds provided by buyers and owners. There are approximately 300 owners of those apartments.

Similarly, he said, the rent-a-car business is being managed by sons of Senator Dar who do not own the cars but in fact rent them on behalf of the car owners. The spokesman said Dar has always regularly paid his taxes and filed his tax returns with the FBR. The full tax record was also presented to the JIT and the Supreme Court of Pakistan in the Panama Papers case. Therefore, he said, the allegations relating to non-payment of taxes or non-filing of tax returns is a complete fabrication.
