PM lauds PRC?s role in social work, development

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has assured government?s overwhelming support for Pakistan Red Cross (PRC) in its endeavours. He offered the assurance to a delegation of the PRC led by its Chairman Dr Saeed Elahi that called on the prime minister here at the Prime Minister Office (PMO) Thursday. The delegation briefed the prime minister on the ongoing projects of PRC, new initiatives and future plans during the meeting. Prime Minister Shahid Abbasi appreciated the role of Pakistan Red Crescent for humanitarian assistance, its operations during disasters and provision of health services. The premier also acknowledged the role of Pakistan Red Crescent in community based social work and development for empowering the community in addressing core civic issues through better awareness. Prime minister lauded the dedication and commitment of Dr Saeed Elahi for the cause of PRC and service for humanity.
