LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League (N) President Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday directed party leaders to play their role in communicating the essence of his Tehreek-e-Adl.
Chairing a meeting at his Jati Umra residence in which organisational matters, responsibilities regarding PML-N?s 2018 election campaign and the recently-launched Tehreek-e-Adl were discussed. The deposed premier discussed sociopolitical scenarios in the country and received feedback from the participants regarding the agenda he presented in his speech on Monday.
According to sources, Nawaz said the Tehreek-e-Adl was not specific to any particular entity. He said he would not sit idle and would take his message to all and sundry. He said his opponents were misrepresenting his message as confrontational with the judiciary and directed the party leaders to play their part in communicating the essence of the movement.
Senior PML-N leaders including National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Maryam Nawaz, Talal Chaudhry, Daniyal Aziz, Marriyum Aurangzeb, Hanif Abbasi, Musadik Malik and Irfan Siddiqui attended the meeting.
Nawaz stressed the need for an invigorated mass-contact campaign to tell people the truth about his disqualification. It was decided that the PML-N Election Cell would organise the campaign.
The attendees also discussed the plan of action for the general elections 2018 and discussed what needed to be talked about at the Kot Momin convention on December 31.Regarding the candidature for aspiring candidates for Provincial and National Assembly seats, it was decided that the PML-N Parliamentary Boards would deal with the issue. The boards will enlist the aspiring candidates and conduct interviews which will be reported to the party president in the scheduled meetings for this agenda.
