LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif met ambassadors and high commissioners of more than 16 countries and apprised them of the sacrifices offered by Pakistan in the war against terrorism.
He said Pakistan is the only country in the world which has given such great sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. He expressed his optimism that Pakistan would win this war on terror. During the meeting, ideas were exchanged to boost investment, launch joint ventures and promote relations in various fields.
The ambassadors and high commissioners paid tribute to the extraordinary leadership qualities in Shahbaz Sharif, adding that he had made Punjab a developed province due to his hard work, determination and dedication.
Kuwait?s ambassador said Shahbaz Sharif is popular because of his hard work and unusual dedication. The Tajik ambassador said ending load-shedding in the country is an incredible achievement of the PML-N leadership.
Ambassador of Azerbaijan said the Punjab CM?s efforts were resulting in progress of entire province. Belarus ambassador said the chief minister implemented his vision vigilantly through his untiring efforts.
Ambassador of Egypt said that due to leadership qualities of the chief minister, his government has achieved all the set goals. Nigerian ambassador said he himself had witnessed development and prosperity of Punjab. The projects of infrastructure have been executed really fast, for which CM?s performance must be appreciated.
Sudan?s ambassador told CM that he was impressed by his speech last night in which he had given a wonderful message to his nation.
The high commissioner of Sri Lanka said that under the vibrant leadership of Shahbaz Sharif, revolutionary measures had been taken in the fields of education, health, energy and infrastructure.
Deputy high commissioner of Australia said that Punjab had achieved successes under his dynamic leadership of Shahbaz Sharif.
Consulate general of Turkey said amazing development of Punjab was due to the robust leadership of Shahbaz Sharif.
The Chinese ambassador said Shahbaz Sharif had completed the project under ?Punjab Speed? and the credit of making Punjab an ideal province goes to him.
Other diplomats also praised the exemplary leadership, hard work and vision of Shahbaz Sharif.
The CM told the envoys the PML-N government had taken forwarded the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Provincial ministers Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman, Malik Nadeem Kamran, Jehangir Khanzada, spokesman for Punjab government Muhammad Ahmed Khan, chief secretary and other officials were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, in his message on the Quaid-e-Azam birth anniversary, Shahbaz Sharif said under the vibrant leadership of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the dream of Muslims of the Subcontinent came true and they achieved their homeland.
He said Pakistan could be saved from all crises by acting on the sayings of Jinnah. He urged the nation to adopt Quaid?s golden principles of ?Faith, Unity and Discipline?.
In another message, the Punjab chief minister congratulated the Christian community on Christmas.
He said according to the teachings of Islam, respecting all prophets is our religious compulsion and faith in all prophets including Jesus is the essential component of Islam.
CM said the festival of Christmas gives an opportunity of promoting friendship, love and mutual association.
Shahbaz Sharif also strongly condemned the blast in North Waziristan and expressed sorrow over martyrdom of three FC personnel in the incident.He expressed his sympathies with the families of martyrs. The chief minister also expressed deep sorrow over the loss of precious human lives including children in traffic accident at Indus Highway near Sehwan Sharif. The death of Prof Hafiza Qariah Robina Khalid also grieved the chief minister.
