At least 29 people have died after tornadoes and severe storms tore through the south-central United States.

As of early Tuesday, there were reports of 15 tornado-related deaths in Arkansas (http://bigstory.ap.org/article/arkansas-tornado-death-toll-raised-13), up to six in Alabama (http://www.usatoday.com/story/weather/2014/04/28/midwest-storms/8353073/), seven in Mississippi and one in Oklahoma (http://www.news9.com/story/25356067/one-dead-6-injured-after-tornado-hits-quapaw). The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center issued tornado watches (http://www.spc.ncep.**aa.gov/products/watch/ww0113.html) Monday night for most of Alabama, **rthwest Georgia, southeast Louisiana, southern Mississippi and southern-middle Tennessee, effective until 3 a.m. CT (4 a.m. ET). There are threats of multiple tornadoes, including a few that are "intense," as well as "widespread damaging" wind gusts up to 70 miles per hour and scattered large hail. Read more...
