Michael Peres (https://www.instagram.com/michael_peres/) is a photography professor at Rochester Institute of Technology. He became obsessed with photographing snowflakes with his microscope since 2003 when he visited an exhibit featuring Wilson Bentley's snowflake work.*

When snow falls, he catches the flakes on a black velvet tray and then transfers them onto the microscope glass with a needle.
