Sometimes — less frequently these days, thankfully — Google+ (http://mashable.com/category/google-plus/?utm_campaign=Mash-Prod-RSS-Feedburner-All-Partial&utm_cid=Mash-Prod-RSS-Feedburner-All-Partial&utm_medium=feed&utm_source=rss) still gets compared to a ghost town. It's a metaphor from the early days of the social service, and if it was ever accurate, it has **t been appropriate for years. We don't k**w just how inaccurate, because Google (http://mashable.com/category/google/?utm_campaign=Mash-Prod-RSS-Feedburner-All-Partial&utm_cid=Mash-Prod-RSS-Feedburner-All-Partial&utm_medium=feed&utm_source=rss) won't reveal helpful user numbers, but we'll get to that
The ghost town jokes came round again Thursday, when Vic Gundotra, the executive responsible for Google+, an**unced on the service that he was leaving Google (http://mashable.com/2014/04/24/google-chief-vic-gundotra-leaving/?utm_campaign=Mash-Prod-RSS-Feedburner-All-Partial&utm_cid=Mash-Prod-RSS-Feedburner-All-Partial&utm_medium=feed&utm_source=rss). At this stage in the game, the punchlines are irresistible. Here's one of the best:
I hear that Vic Gundotra spent his last hour on the job personally calling all of Google+'s users to thank them for their support.
