'The Simpsons' has finally addressed why Maggie is still a baby after 27 years

There are some paradoxes in life far that are far too complex to even begin addressing.
Take Maggie Simpson for instance. She's been on our screens for 27 years, but she's still only a year old.

Well there are some things in life that we simply aren't meant to question, and this clearly falls into that category. But on Sunday night, curious viewer Brian Fink decided to throw caution to the wind.
Umm I’m confused. This is the first time I’m watching @TheSimpsons (https://twitter.com/TheSimpsons?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) in forever.... how is Maggie still a baby with a pacifier? Shouldn’t she be in college by now?!? 🤔
