The Comcast financial juggernaut continued this winter. The largest U.S. cable operator added 24,000 new video customers (http://www.cmcsk.com/releasedetail.cfm?ReleaseID=841516) to start 2014, which marked the second-consecutive quarter of growth after a 6 1/2-year stretch of cable-TV subscriber losses.

Comcast's quarterly sales and income both topped Wall Street forecasts. The company has credited much of the reversal in the video business to its X1 video platform (http://www.comcast.com/x1), an Internet-based system designed to make channel navigation far simpler and more intuitive (http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2014-01-10/comcasts-redesigned-cable-box-may-be-helping-it-lose-fewer-tv-customers) than past cable boxes.
