LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday said the state of Pakistan was an honour and symbol of prestige for everyone. ?Pakistan is our proud identity and we all have to make this identity even stronger. And this goal can be achieved through national unity as nations and societies do not progress due to disunity and differences,? he said in a statement. In a statement, the chief minister said Pakistan could not afford any confrontation because it would detrimental to the country and an obstacle for development. He stressed that everyone should collectively work to make Pakistan realise the dreams of Quaid and Iqbal.
Shahbaz said the PML-N government had worked relentlessly for achieving the goal of national development, adding that unique steps had been adopted for public welfare as well as to ensure speedy development in the province.
?A comprehensive programme is being followed by the government to ensure speedy development and vowed to move further with full passion for national development. The steps taken for overcoming the energy crisis are the examples of their own and due to the efforts of the government, the time of culmination of the energy crisis has come and it is the time when the nation is going to forever get rid of the menace of load shedding,? he added. Separately, the chief minister, chairing a meeting, said the Punjab government would celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi with full religious fervour and passion.
