Speidel Scrub Watch Review: Matches Form, Simple Function
Well it is what it is! A watch that is targeted towards medical professionals who wear scrubs – i.e. doctors and nurses. They call it the Scrub Watch because the colors of the bands match with typical scrub colors. Speidel reached out to us to see if we would review their watch, and, slightly intrigued at what might be called a clever marketing ploy, we bit.

We’ll be frank: the Speidel Scrub Watch is a fairly typical analog watch. It doesn’t sync with your phone, nor does it count your steps. It keeps the basic needs of medical professionals in mind, with large numbers to tell time and a bright red second hand for when you’re counting your patient’s pulse or breaths over 30 seconds. Conveniently, it marks every 5 seconds with an actual number, so you know exactly when you started counting and exactly when you should stop. The watch strap is made of a soft 100% silicone and the timepiece is water resistant up to 30 meters/99 feet, which should make cleaning a cinch.

Overall, this watch does its job well. However, in a time when smart watches are available to do the same job and more, it’s unclear if this is the best watch for that valuable wrist real-estate. But hey, if you’re an analog person through-and-through and want to be fashionable in your scrubs on those late call nights, then this watch just might be the one for you.
