All hail the new girl with the dragon tattoo.
Claire Foy – best known as Queen Elizabeth II in Netflix's The Crown – has officially been cast as lead Lisbeth Salander in The Girl in the Spider's Web, to be directed by Fede Alvarez (Don't Breathe).

She takes over for Rooney Mara, who portrayed the character in 2011's The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Noomi Rapace played the role in the original, Swedish-language The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, released in 2009, as well as its two sequels.
All the films are based on the Millennium series of books created by Stieg Larsson. The author had originally planned for a ten-part saga, but died after completing the third book. David Lagencrantz took over as the new author starting with the fourth installment, The Girl in the Spider's Web.* Read more...
