Citing unnamed sources, Geo News on Thursday reported that the minister's tour was not scheduled.The relations between Pakistan and United States became further strained after President Trump accused Islamabad of providing save havens to militants that US is fighting.He also threatened to cut Pakistan's aid and hinted at giving India greater role in Afghanistan.The sources said although the minister was advised to visit US, the trip was not finalised by the government. Atfter detailed review of the situation it has been decided that the minister would not undertake the visit, the sources said.Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani had also said the minister should postpone his visit after reports of his proposed tour made headlines in the local media. Meanwhile, speaking in the Senate, Khawaja Asif rejected Trump’s allegations and said making Pakistan a scapegoat would not stabilise Afghanistan.He said efforts were being made to destabilise Pakistan on both eastern and western borders of the country.The minister said National Security Committee meeting has rejected Trump’s allegations. “Pakistan suffered loss of 120 billions dollars in war against terrorism. Pakistan doesn’t let its soil be used for perpetrating violence against any country,” he said.Pakistan has supported international efforts for peaceful Afghanistan, he said, adding that refugees, drugs and arms made their way into Pakistan due to conflict in Afghanistan.
