This specific3 lobby indulges in baseless allegations and vilification against the Jang Group that is once again being alleged as traitor, pro-India and pro-US. On Sunday too, this lobby attempted to create a fallacious image, based on AJK PM’s press conference, that it was the Jang/Geo Group alone that ran the AJK PM’s statement. As a matter of fact, the AJK PM’s statement was **t only carried by several newspapers and TV channels, but also transmitted by news agencies. Jang and The News carried the report transmitted by these news agencies and did **t write anything on their own, while some other media outlets published their correspondents’ reports. Jang/Geo Group’s editorial policy vis-à-vis Kashmir’s affiliation with Pakistan is amply clear — the Group unequivocally stands for Pakistan’s principled stance on Kashmir — and the Group’s files in record are a testimony to this fact.
In his clarification, the AJK prime minister said, ‘I deny and condemn the way my press conference has been reported by a responsible English daily and an Urdu newspaper. My talk has been wrongly published,’ though he categorically stated that he had ** complaint against Jang/The News because they carried the news provided by news agencies.
According to the video clip available with Jang/Geo, following are AJK PM’s spoken sentences, which are: —
“There is a personality who is accused of reportedly being father of a daughter out of wedlock. He is head of the divorce federation. He has pro**unced divorce twice. Why? The meaning is, look, divorce, though **t sin, has been called an abominable act by Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) in Islam .”
“He says that he comes up to (criteria of) 62 and 63. Yesterday he said he was making Allama Iqbal’s Pakistan. Are these allegations he is facing is the dream of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal.”
“I will have to think that being a Kashmiri which country to attach my fate to if this is the Pakistan of Allama Iqbal or Pakistan of Quaid-e-Azam. This is a strange thing.”
Given the above detail, the Jang/Geo spokesperson maintained, it becomes crystal clear that the ARY channel deliberately ig**red the facts, once again dishonestly and maliciously chose to target the Jang/Geo Group, **t others who had also carried the AJK premier’s statement. The group strongly rejects and condemns these allegations and would move court of law.
According to the spokesperson, a few specific persons with a TV channel on the forefront have been leveling false and baseless allegations, saying that the Jang/Geo Group is traitor, conniving with anti-Pakistan elements and following a policy to further an agenda of the US and India.
Reacting to these allegations, the Jang/Geo Group filed defamation cases in Pakistan as well as the UK. In Pakistan, these people have been evading and prolonging cases by lame excuses. However, the British courts have pro**unced a historic judgement against the ARY channel, declaring them guilty and imposing hefty fine, and the TV channel had to shut down. During the proceeding of this case in the UK, this channel’s lawyer admitted that they had ** proof of these false and frivolous allegations against Jang/Geo.
The Jang/Geo spokesperson stated that the strongest proof of the falsity of these allegations is the fact that the propaganda being aired in Pakistan without any restraint is **t being aired in the UK and is edited from the transmission there. If they have any proof for their allegations, why don’t they air these allegations in the UK. The defamation laws in Pakistan and the UK are identical, the spokesperson added.
The spokesperson said what else could be a bigger proof of these people’s dishonesty and ill intentions that the channel that follows the views of that specific group of people carried the AJK PM’s news and that too filed by its own reporter, yet they are targeting Geo that has **t aired the report altogether. This also goes to prove that professional rivalry and jealousy has blinded these people to such an extent that they neither care for journalistic principles **r they bother to do even a bit of effort to verify facts.
The spokesperson stated that these people have lost the sense of right and wrong in pursuing the policy of jealousy, **t hard work, to make Jang/Geo controversial and diminish its respect in the eyes of the people. They have ** qualms about resorting to even the meanest of tactics in achieving their objective, the spokesperson said, adding that Jang/Geo Group’s unconditional love for Islam, Pakistan, and the armed forces does **t require any certification by these people as the group’s own record is e**ugh to certify that.
The spokesperson thanked The Almighty for vindicating the group in the face of opponents’ conspiracies.
