Silicon Valley darling Nest (http://mashable.com/category/nest/?utm_campaign=Mash-Prod-RSS-Feedburner-All-Partial&utm_cid=Mash-Prod-RSS-Feedburner-All-Partial&utm_medium=feed&utm_source=rss), the home appliance startup snapped up by Google in January for $3.2 billion (http://mashable.com/2014/01/13/google-buys-nest-for-3-2-billion/?utm_campaign=Mash-Prod-RSS-Feedburner-All-Partial&utm_cid=Mash-Prod-RSS-Feedburner-All-Partial&utm_medium=feed&utm_source=rss), has discovered a flaw in its second product, the Nest Protect ***** detector — a flaw big e**ugh for Nest to halt sales Thursday.

"During recent laboratory testing of the Nest Protect ***** alarm, we observed a unique combination of circumstances that caused us to question whether the Nest Wave could be unintentionally activated," wrote Nest founder and CEO Tony Fadell in a blog post (https://nest.com/letter-from-the-ceo/). "This could delay an alarm going off if there was a real fire." Read more...
