The PML-N workers-led by central and local leaders in all the major and small cities of the country expressed their anger chanting slogans against the PTI chairman, terming him an enemy of democracy and development of the country.
The angry workers also burnt effigies of Imran Khan in many cities as a mark of displeasure as they said the PTI chairman was conspiring against democracy.
Hundreds of party workers led by Rawalpindi Mayor Sardar Muhammad Naseem, ex-MNAs Muhammad Hanif Abbasi and Shakil Awan, participated in a rally, which was taken out from the Liaquat Bagh and ended at Faizabad. The protesting party workers were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans in support Nawaz Sharif. “Step forward Nawaz Sharif, we are with you”, the party workers continued chanting as they moved towards Faizabad.
Shakil Awan, while addressing the party workers, said there was ** serious allegation of corruption against Nawaz Sharif but still he was disqualified. “We are proud of the fact that there was ** charge of corruption against our beloved leader,” he said.
He said conspiracies had been hatched against former PM Nawaz Sharif and his party but the workers would foil the designs of anti-democracy elements.
He said the PTI chief Imran Khan and Shaikh Rasheed Ahmad had become puppets in the hands of foreign powers and were creating chaos in the court.
He said the whole party was united and would continue to express solidarity with their beloved leader Nawaz Sharif.
Muhammad Hanif Abbasi also regretted the disqualification of Nawaz Sharif, saying that Imran Khan should see the writing on the wall saying that he would make some startling disclosures against Imran in front of media.
Sardar Naseem said that Nawaz Sharif was punished for putting the country on the track of development and giving gift of CPEC to the nation. “Our leader has been disqualified but he still lives in our hearts,” he said.
Rashid Gulfaraz Abbasi, the president of Hamza Shahbaz Force Rawalpindi, said Nawaz Sharif is a great and visionary leader and the party workers would support him by all means.
