ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Friday said the basis on which former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was disqualified had stunned legal experts and he did **t think history would remember it as the “right decision”.
Speaking at a press conference here, the JUI-F chief said that opponents think they had won following the Supreme Court’s verdict disqualifying Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the Panama Papers case, the Panama Papers case, Geo News reported.
He said that **w the case will be investigated under NAB, adding that even the rival party did **t trust the institution. “We thought there would be a pile of evidence but when the verdict came, the prime minister was disqualified over the basis of money he did **t withdraw,” said Fazl.
"I don't term it a judicial martial law; leave it on to history," he said, adding, "The issue is **t about corruption, but there has been an agenda of creating a political crisis." He said that the China-Pakistan Eco**mic Corridor (CPEC) and other development projects will also be undermined due to the ongoing political situation.
